- A Perfect Marriage Proposal -

Tom and I started dating when I was 14 and he was 16 on April 17, 1997. Even at that young age, I knew we had something really special. Tom's family has a camp on a small pond. Every summer, we go there as much as possible. In fact, every major
at that camp. That is where Tom and I realized how much in love we were, it is where we have had countless of our romantic encounters (picnics, stargazing, etc) The camp is now known as our ''special retreat'', which is what makes this so special to me.
This past summer, after I turned 20, Tom and I went to the camp for one last getaway before we moved back to campus for the school year. We stopped at the grocery store to pick up food for dinner. There is a small stove there, so Nick was cooking me my favorite meal, pasta with
kielbasa, fruity wine, and chocolate eclairs. He even picked up a candle so we would eat by candlelight. I had no idea what he had been planning, I just thought he was being very romantic. When we got to the camp, Tom wouldn't let me help with anything.
Again, I just thought he was being sweet. He kept saying things like 'I'm going to show you how much I love you tonight', which of course, I just thought he was referring to 'other things'. By the time dinner was ready, it was pitch dark outside and it was pouring rain. We lit the candle
and turned on one other small lamp on the table and had a very intimate dinner. As soon as I finished eating, Tom immediately blew out the candle. I was a little surprised, but since I had NO IDEA what he was planning, I
just let it go. He then began to tell me how much he loved me and how we had so many great memories together and he wanted to have a lifetime more of them. He said he couldn't wait to fall asleep together every night and wake up holding each other, to have babies and them to grow old
together. Then, the small lamp started flickering, so he told me to hold on a moment while he fixed it. I sat there all confused, wondering if he was just being sweet or if he was
proposing. Suddenly, he turned the light back on
and there was a beautiful ring in an open box right in front of me. I shrieked   and started crying. He came over to me with the most loving look
on his face, gave me a hug, and asked, 'Will you marry me?' I looked him right in the eye and said 'YES!!!' Now, we can truly say that camp is where EVERY major step in our relationship has happened!!!!! I am looking forward for a lifetime more with my true soul mate and best friend!!!

- My True Life Wedding Proposal -

The key to my proposal is that when I first started dating Lucy, I ask her two things she had always wanted to do, but never gotten the chance. She told me she had always wanted to go on a horse carriage ride, and go on a dinner cruise down the river walk in San Antonio , TX
That was 5 years ago and I never gave her those two things until this special night. My girlfriend Lucy Kent and I had been dating for 5 years and she new a proposal was or should I say better be in the near future. I planed it all
months in advanced and I had to be very careful if I wanted to keep this a secret. We were going to her families in San Antonio for Christmas. I told her I wanted to take her to dinner when we got there, so we could have a chance to spend time together, since holidays were so hectic. When we
got there, so we could have a chance to spend time together, since holidays were so hectic. When we got to her Grandmothers house we started to get ready. While she was getting ready I managed to sneak all the bags back to the car without her noticing. I wanted to make the entire evening romantic not just the proposal.
Once we were ready we drove to the Menger Hotel and valet parked. I told her the hotel had a deal with the restaurant for parking since parking was limited down town. We then strolled down to the river walk where a dinner cruise awaited us. The romantic dinner cruise lasted for about an
hour and a half. The evening was perfect and she was glowing with joy. When the cruise was over I asked her if she wanted to do any think else. She said 'she didn't care the evening was already fantastic'. I told her I really wanted to see the Alamo.
When we got to the Alamo there was a horse carriage waiting for us. The driver already new what was going on. He took us on a romantic carriage ride threw down town San Antonio . The driver then pulled up into Travis Park, the park was completely lit up with white Christmas lights, and
it was stunning. I got down on one knee and proposed. She was so happy that tears were rolling from her eyes. She was completely surprised. The drive took a picture of the moment and then took us back to the Historic Menger Hotel, where are car was parked. Wait it is not over yet.
She thought we were going back to her grandmother's house for the night that was the last thing she wanted to do on the most romantic night of her life. I then informed her I had reserved a sweet at the Menger. When we got to our room I had arranged for us to have waiting 2 glasses a
a bottle of Champaign, a plate of strawberries, and a dozen roses in a vase. I had a note waiting for her in the flowers letting her know how much I looked forward to spending the rest of my life with her. I had our bags delivered to the room, and last but not least I gave her a present I bought her at Victoria Secret. The entire evening was perfect and unforgettable!
